A new way forward in mobility

After the formation of Alphabet a number of Google’s former research projects were being developed into full-fledged companies (“bets”). Google X’s self-driving car division, “Chauffeur,” was one of those companies. In order to become a corporate entity, they needed a name and brand identity.

We led the development of a comprehensive identity that embodied how Waymo would be the future of mobility, providing effortless journeys to any destination. Given the novel technology, we explored different ways to introduce a generative approach to the logo and design system.

The new identity reflects its mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going.
